NFF Chairman Faults Media Over Keshi Rumour

Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi carried by players

Nigeria Football Federation President (NFF) Aminu Maigari has slammed the media for stirring up rumours that Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi may be sacked before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The NFF boss questioned the rationale for the rumours, and blamed the media for ‘cooking up’ the story.

Maigari said: “I don’t know who is cooking up these stories.

“I think with great apologies to you guys in the media, these stories are coming from the press, because Keshi and I have not sat down to discuss anything like that.”

Maigari went on to disclose that there are no plans to hire a foreign assistant for the national team, and assured that Stephen Keshi will lead Nigeria to the World Cup next year.
