Barcelona To Sign Coutinho

According to reports from Spain, Spanish champions Barcelona are looking at nabbing Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool in the near future. The 24-year-old has matured greatly in the past year or so and scored a fantastic goal in Brazil’s 3-0 win over Argentina on Thursday night.

Coutinho has started the campaign in red hot form for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Not only has he scored five times, but he also produced six assists for the Merseysider’s, who currently sit top of the Premier League table.

The attacking midfielder has played a key role in Liverpool’s good start to their campaign. He is seen as the team’s main playmaker playing as a part of a very fluid front four for the side from Merseyside.

It seems Coutinho’s performances have attracted the attention of the Barcelona hierarchy and he is believed to be their main transfer priority. Some would ask where Coutinho would play with a forward line of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez already at the club.

It seems the most likely answer would be a deeper role behind the three superstar forwards, maybe joining as a potential long-term replacement for Spanish hero Andres Iniesta.
